Staffordshire based digger and plant hire equipment specialist JCB have stated that they are not ruling out more job losses due to "difficult" market conditions. JCB employ some 5,000 Staffordshire residents and have recently announced just over 200 compulsory redundancies with over 200 workers leaving voluntarily. Initially JCB planned to cut up to 700 jobs back in July after what was described as a "rapid decline" in orders, however this recent announment raises fears about even more cuts.
A
spokesman said "We are in discussions with the GMB union about how
best to tackle the difficult market conditions being experienced by
JCB." |
