Residents asked for their views on new houses

A proposal that involves the construction of more houses off Firwood Road, Plover Drive and Blackbird Way in Biddulph has come under fire from locals, and residents are being urged to make their views known.

The Staffordshire Moorlands Local Development Framework laid out plans to construct a variety of new houses in the area, however residents are being urged by many to make their voices heard by contacting Staffordshire Moorlands District Council by Friday. Objections must be sent in writing to the council at Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek.

Biddulph town crier John Robinson, who lives in Blackbird Way and has delivered fliers to people in the area about the issue, said it was vital that people make their views known. He said: "My phone has almost gone into meltdown with people ringing me wanting to know what was happening."
