Staffordshire Events
Want to do something a little bit special or a little bit different. Staffordshire has a wide range of Events to suit everyones taste.
Are you a music lover? Perhaps the most widely known music festival in the area is the V Festival that is held at Weston Park. People travel from all over the country to attend and see their favourite bands perform. If the large modern music festival is not to your taste there are also plenty of smaller more local events like the Newcastle under Lyme Jazz and Blues festival. If you want to to further explore your creative side, many of the towns like Lichfield and Leek also host their own local Art events.
Looking for something a bit more traditional, the Abbots Bromley Horne Dance, is a unique tradition that is celebrated every year. It is an English Folk Dance involving the use of Stag Antlers, and the Staffordshire Event attracts many visitors each year. Well Dressings are another local tradition of the Peak Villages, where carefully crafted often intricate pictures are made out of natural materials, like flower petals, moss and bark.
The Stafford Festival is a lively event for all ages, with street theatre, live music and children’s entertainment. Stafford is also the venue for yearly open air Shakespeare performances. Set in the backdrop of Stafford castle, in late June and July, the dramatic surrounding adds to the suspense of these events.
So whatever your age or taste you can be sure to find an event to make your visit extra special.
